The Chery Q: A New Electric Chapter for Everyday Driving

By

Image 1 Chery Q Launch

With the cost of living putting pressure on South African households, motorists are looking for ways to manage everyday expenses. From commuting to work to running errands, transport costs can take a significant portion of a monthly budget. Could fully electric driving offer a different approach?

On 10 October 2026, CMH Chery West Rand officially launched the Chery Q, introducing customers to the possibilities of fully electric motoring and a new way to think about everyday travel.

A Smarter Approach to Everyday Driving

Image 2 Silver Chery Q

The Chery Q is a fully electric vehicle that runs on a rechargeable battery rather than petrol or diesel. This means drivers can move away from traditional fuel purchases and charge their vehicle using electricity. Depending on electricity tariffs, charging arrangements and driving habits, this could provide an opportunity to manage running costs differently.

With a claimed range of up to 400 km on the NEDC test cycle, the Chery Q offers motorists a starting point when considering whether an electric vehicle suits their daily journeys. Actual range will vary depending on driving conditions and other factors.

Making Electric Mobility Part of Your Life

Image 3 Purple Chery Q

Beyond fuel savings, electric driving offers an opportunity to embrace changing automotive technology. Home charging, where suitable facilities are available, can also help drivers plan charging around their daily routines.

At CMH Chery West Rand, customers can learn more about the Chery Q and explore how fully electric motoring could fit into their lifestyles. Comparing charging costs, insurance, financing and other ownership expenses can help buyers make informed decisions.

Peace of Mind That Goes the Distance: Industry-Leading Warranty Coverage Explained

By

When choosing a new vehicle, performance and design matter — but long-term peace of mind matters even more. That’s why a 5-year/150,000 km factory warranty (bumper-to-bumper), combined with an exceptional 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty, stands out as one of the most reassuring ownership packages available today. At Chery Westrand, we believe this level of coverage transforms the driving experience from day one.

What Does a 5-Year/150,000 km Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty Mean?

A bumper-to-bumper factory warranty is designed to protect you against unexpected repair costs across most major vehicle systems. For five years or up to 150,000 kilometres — whichever comes first — key components such as electrical systems, suspension, air-conditioning, infotainment, safety features, and more are covered.

This means fewer surprises, predictable ownership costs, and confidence that your vehicle is backed by comprehensive manufacturer support.

The Power of a 10-Year/1,000,000 km Engine Warranty

The engine is the heart of any vehicle, and protecting it for the long haul is a bold promise. A 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty reflects exceptional confidence in engineering quality and durability.

It’s ideal for families, daily commuters, business users, and high-mileage drivers who want long-term reliability without the worry of major engine repair expenses. At Chery Westrand, this warranty is a key reason many customers feel comfortable investing in their next vehicle.

Why This Warranty Package Matters for Real Life

Long warranties aren’t just marketing claims — they’re practical benefits that add real value. They help protect resale value, reduce maintenance anxiety, and allow you to enjoy your vehicle without constantly budgeting for “what if” repairs.

Whether you’re navigating city traffic, planning road trips, or clocking serious kilometres for work, this coverage ensures your vehicle is supported mile after mile.

Drive With Confidence

Choosing a vehicle with this level of warranty coverage means choosing confidence, durability, and smart ownership. When you buy through Chery Westrand, you’re not just getting a car — you’re getting long-term protection designed to keep you moving forward with total peace of mind.

1. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Chery’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) bring world-class safety technology to your everyday drive. Using radar sensors and cameras, the system actively helps you stay alert and in control. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert work together to reduce the risk of accidents — offering the peace of mind that every family driver deserves.

At Chery Westrand, we see how much our customers love this feature because it takes the stress out of parking in tight spots and crowded areas.

3. Airbags and Reinforced Vehicle Structure

Every Chery model is equipped with multiple airbags — including front, side, and curtain airbags — that work with the vehicle’s reinforced body structure to protect passengers from all angles. The high-strength steel design absorbs and disperses impact energy efficiently, ensuring maximum protection during collisions.
